CuteNews Install Emoticons
New to blogging with CuteNews, and hate the dull emoticons provided? Learn how to upload custom emoticons that you can download from various sites on the web.
Step 1
To begin, you will need to open your FTP, and login.
Step 2
Once logged in, go to your PUBLIC_HTML » CUTENEWS » DATA » EMOTICONS folder. There will be files in this folder; delete them, but keep the INDEX.HTML file, if it exists. From there, find you files on your computer, and drag them into your FTP; these smilie files must be GIF; if not, they will not work correctly.
Step 3
Next, login to your CuteNews at your site, and go to OPTIONS » SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS.
Step 4
Now, in the SMILIES dialog box, type in all the names of the smilies, separated only by commas, and without their file extentions; example; happyface.gif, and sadface.gif would be; happyface,sadface.
Step 5
Finally, choose SAVE CHANGES, and your smilies will be operational.Completion!
Congratulations! You have now uploaded custom smilies; happy blogging!
