And, We’re BACK!
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
I am so sorry about all the downtime that I had (hey, famous phrase, much?!). As I sit here blogging, thinking about my hectic schedule that I have to do this week, and the 23905835 clients I’m trying to balance, I’m aggravated with the fact that MisterUnscripted.com is hurting. That’s why with the newest launch coming soon (I know, I’m getting addicted to big layout changes), I am planning the biggest online contest by a graphics resource site/blog ever; well, in my own personal opinion. I have some pretty rockin’ people lined up to help out, and I’m so excited! Working on designs the content for it, and I bet it will be the best so far—especially from MisterUnscripted.com. Hopefully I can get some big names on the Internet in? We’ll have to wait, and see! I’m e-mailing like crazy with proposals being rewritten almost every other day! Here it comes…

Aside from that, I have been pretty good. I’m going to update a bunch of categories this week (celebrities, books, charity, movies, music, world events, tutorials, spotlight site, and more, so check back)! Also, I e-mailed the nominee for October’s Site of The Month, and I am hoping that I can get a response as soon as possible, because it needs to launch by Friday!

Check back, big updates this week!

Downtime

Downtime—one word, or two?

Anyways, the reason I have been so inactive over the past few days is very simply my hectic schedule. I have been working a lot, going to school, and doing homework/assignments, studying for a few tests, and doing work for clients. I am currently working out bugs for two clients: one woman who is a graphic designer looking for a portfolio, and the other, my school. I also have a third client I need to have a teleconference with, and two others I need to get in contact with as soon as possbile—scratch that: three.

On top of that, I have a charity meeting next week, and a huge charity event to attend in October, so I have been super busy putting that together, and preparing as well.

Plus, school needs me to do a bunch of posters to promote a brand new testing system that is coming in. I need to take stock photos of students, and then create presentation posters using Photoshop, etc. on them.

Then, on the site side of things, well, a stand still, because on top of all that which is amazing in my life, I have the worst cold ever. I mean, I’ve been sick before, but it has never been like this, I don’t think. My throat is sore, my head throbs, my voice is changed completely due to nasal blockage, and my whole head gains like twenty pounds, and I go into this weird dizzy/blackout effect every other day, or so. Bleh, I hate it, and I have to do all this, and surpass my cold—somehow.

I am going to focus on the site though for a bit more this week. I want to start—keyword: start—making some new content, expanding tutorials, etc. I always say this, but I promise it instantly. This time, not instantly, this plan is going to take a while, maybe months, but it will get done. I just need a few days of downtime, so that I can get straightened out, and feel better. Plus, I have to launch three new domains this week for various clients, so bleh.

Talk to you soon! I will bring the status updates back by the weekend!

Stop, Before You Hurt Somebody
Sunday, September 7, 2008
This is definitely a sequel to my last rant of a blog. Let me start off my saying this: thank you to all the support through the few comments, and numerous e-mails I received about this. I even received e-mails from people looking for originality, and my advice; you are the support I need when I write these blogs. However, that’s not why I am writing again, so here goes everything.

I was looking around a while ago at a bunch of sites, as I usually do, and as I usually state. But, this time, I was looking for talent, literally. Looking for sites that I’m interested in learning about, getting to know the owner, and possibly affiliating with. My search was horrific, and I am proud to say that. I am proud to say that MisterUnscripted.com stands out. I am proud to say that my affiliates stand out. I am proud to say that I’m not on a list of sites that match, a list of sites that look identical in every way, except the site name. Sure, you slap another emo phase, like Crash-Catastrophe-Creations.com, and BAM, you have a site. Slap on some high, tall, skinny font, and BAM, you have a layout. Use a CSS that I saw a year, or two ago on Rewindd.com, and BAM, you have a style. You’ve gone unsaid for too long now. I’ll stop the list at what I have, before I hurt myself, or somebody.

I had a list of sites here that were clones of another, but I removed it due to personal reasons (I don’t care if you speculate about what those reasons were, you’d be surprised).

I find it unusal that about ten people paid for domains, just to copy another domain. What a waste; at least show some originality. But, hey, MisterUnscripted.com gave you free advertising, so I guess it’s worth it. Right?

Save the drama for your mama. It’s not needed here.

I Thought That’s What We Worked For?
Saturday, August 30, 2008
I always thought, as a web designer, I was fighting for originality. This is because the web is so unlimited in possibilities, but extremely limited in ideas. I came up with all these new ideas, content, etc. for the site, to be original. I’m glad that nobody is like this site yet, but I’m worried that it won’t be long until someone becomes MisterUnscripted.com in their own sense. What do I work for if that’s all I’ll ever accomplish: a carbon copy.

Browsing around during my revamp I came across a site that looked exactly like another that I am an avid visitor to. I decided drama isn’t my style, and didn’t want to get involved, but blogging is, and I can do that all I care to. This site has the exact same CSS, and basically the same layout, minus a few things which you would need to actually be experienced to pull off. Thus, the lack of it here. It just annoyed me that someone would so such a thing, and I don’t want that to happen with this site—at all.

However, it’s not that fact that got to me, although it played a large part. It was the fact that to get to this mimic website, I had to go to a website which I visit purely to see if their copying ways have left them, but low, and behold: of course not. An exact excerpt from their blog states: I know this site is not even close to (insert impressive site name here), or (insert another impressive site name here), but what I’m going to do is copy (insert site name I referred to in previous paragraph here), sorry. They full out admitted they were going to copy another site, then they had the audacity to apologize. It was just classic, and actually, not surprising at all, knowing the person.

Rant aside, what has the web design world come to when all these teens are striving to be the best, and dying to win this beauty pageant when you’ve got your twin pulling up the rear? Can you tell me? Can I say it nicer?

Life, The Regular
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
You never really know where you are headed in life—ever. Even if you are forty five years old in some big corner office in the middle of New York City, relaxing, raking in millions, and wearing designer shoes, a new pair every day. Life could instantly kill you with debt, bring back a lost memory that you didn’t want to remember, or send an illness upon your family that leaves you drained: physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Luckily, I’m not in that situation. For being a teenager just wanting to live life the easiest, I think I’ve got it pretty amazing. Making lots of money daily, weekly, monthly, just for doing what I love. Web designing is what I love, and if you have five clients lined up in one week: you’re on top—I’m at a peak.

If I fall, I will get back up again, I won’t be hurt, I won’t suffer a loss. I’ll merely look up to the positive. I’m going to be somebody.

Anyways, now that my ego has been let out—back to business, or what have you. What does everybody think of the site? I actually love the new look, feel, and overall aspect of the site. It’s no longer just me ranting on about topics that may interest, or bore you. It’s a community website. Stay tuned for a widget that will allow you to post!

Secrets always come in stages for MisterUnscripted.com. Expect big ones this year.

Creation

This site is kept up with FanUpdate, with slight modifications to fit the styling that MisterUnscripted.com had prior to the install. Each section of the index page is run by a different category of FanUpdate. The work took a lot of knowledge crunching, brain working, and PHP concepts to understand, and create.

To answer questions: no, I will not help you modify you FanUpdate. Look for tutorials for that, or e-mail the wonderful Jenny who created the CMS. Thank you for visiting.
